The Health Technician (HT) works as a member of the Nursing- Inpatient Mental Health Team. The Health Technician assists medical and nursing staff through technical, specialized or support services for the diagnosing or treatment of patient illnesses or medical conditions. The HT is responsible for the clinical and clerical functions of resident care to promote timely and efficient resident care at the Domiciliary.

Major duties: Duties Included but not limited to: Assists in the operation of the domiciliary living units by providing administrative support to domiciliary residents and treatment team members. Manages scheduling, medical data, resident movement and ensures that all medical information from telephone calls is communicated to appropriate team member and entered into the computerized patient record system.

Provides administrative and technical support to the core and expanded teams and prepares program forms as needed. Knowledge of resident admission, transfer, discharge and outpatient processing eligibility and procedures. Initiates administrative activities pertaining to the functioning of treatment teams, including appropriate resident/team scheduling. Assists in the efficient running of the Domiciliary.

Receives and directs resident and visitors and responds to routine inquiries, receives, and processes all telephone calls and messages for the team. Files all medical record information and correspondence in resident records as needed and assures that resident's demographic information is accurate. Supports team and performs clerical duties (faxing, scanning, mail) Conducts vital sign assessments and provide information to nursing staff.

Weight, vital signs Collects specimens from residents in the program and transports them to the main campus. Glucometer and other patient care -related equipment including calibration and documentation. Simple dressing changes and venipuncture. Completes clinical reminders. Refrigerator/freezer temperature checks, documentation, and appropriate corrective actions Obtain and package lab samples. Obtains EKG readings and uploads results to Cardiology for interpretation.

Assumes responsibility for checking all instruments and equipment for needed repairs, maintenance, and replacement. Assists with minor procedures, including obtaining and arranging necessary equipment, positioning resident, ensuring comfort and privacy. Monitors resident during the procedure. Performs AED checks. Serves as the initial contact for patients seeking medical care. And other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-7:30pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
