Canadian Solar is seeking a Business Strategy Analyst to join the Commercial Operations team. This role will serve as a key contributor in supporting commercial performance, operational planning, business analytics, and strategic decision-making across the MSS organization. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze business performance, develop operational insights, support forecasting and planning activities, and drive process improvements.
This individual will operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy while helping leadership make informed decisions through data-driven analysis, financial evaluation, and business reporting. Duties & Responsibilities • Develop and maintain financial and operational models to support business planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and performance management. • Perform P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking across business units and programs.
• Build executive dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that provide visibility into commercial and operational performance. • Analyze business trends, operational metrics, and financial results to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews by preparing executive-level reports and presentations. • Partner with Finance, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to improve business processes and drive operational effectiveness.
• Evaluate and recommend process improvements that enhance productivity, scalability, profitability, and customer satisfaction. • Conduct market, customer, and competitive analyses to support strategic planning and operational decision-making. • Assist with annual operating plans, long-range planning, and business performance reviews. • Support leadership in developing business cases, investment analyses, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Manage special projects and strategic initiatives from analysis through implementation. • Present findings, recommendations, and performance insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Operations, or a related field required. • MBA from a top-tier program preferred. • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and business analytics capabilities.
• Experience working with P&L reporting, operational metrics, and performance management processes. • Demonstrated ability to translate large data sets into actionable business insights and executive-level recommendations. • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. • Strong business acumen with an understanding of commercial operations and organizational performance drivers.
