Summary Supervise, coordinate, and ensure the efficient execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for production machinery, equipment, and facility systems, ensuring equipment availability and reliability to meet production, quality, and safety requirements. Manage the human, technical, and material resources of the Maintenance Department while promoting continuous improvement, reducing equipment downtime and maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with company standards, procedures, and automotive industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Main Activities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Maintenance Technicians. Ensure compliance with the preventive and predictive maintenance program. Coordinate and follow up on corrective maintenance activities and critical equipment failures. Analyze recurring failures and establish actions to eliminate their root causes. Ensure the availability and reliability of machinery and equipment used in the wire harness manufacturing process.
Provide support to Production in the event of equipment downtime or issues that may affect the production plan. Prioritize maintenance activities based on equipment criticality and impact on production. Supervise electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and controls maintenance activities, as applicable. Ensure proper execution of maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Manage work orders and maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records. Monitor key department performance indicators, including: Equipment availability. MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures). MTTR (Mean Time To Repair). Preventive maintenance compliance. Equipment downtime hours due to failures. Recurrence of failures. Maintenance costs. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto analysis, and failure analysis.
Coordinate the installation, modification, relocation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment. Supervise work performed by external suppliers and contractors. Ensure proper control and management of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials. Identify critical spare parts requirements and establish appropriate inventory levels. Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on increasing equipment productivity and reliability.
Implement actions to reduce downtime and failure-related costs. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other applicable safety controls. Participate in internal and external audits related to maintenance, safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Ensure that technical documentation for machinery and equipment is current and properly maintained. Train and develop Maintenance Technicians in technical skills, safety requirements, and internal procedures.
Evaluate the performance of direct reports and provide regular feedback and coaching. Coordinate shift handovers and ensure effective communication between Maintenance teams. Promote a culture of discipline, organization, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
