Position Summary Under general supervision, provides and manages EHS support for lab and site operations in accordance with Applied Materials policies and applicable governmental regulations in order to control risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
This role is primarily responsible for supporting day-to-day lab and site EHS management, while also providing EHS input to design review, Management of Change (MOC), and related operational readiness activities. The position requires a high level of independence, sound judgment, and effective communication across local and global stakeholders. The successful candidate is expected to ramp up quickly, work with limited supervision, and provide reliable, practical EHS support in a dynamic operational environment.
Core Responsibilities Provide day-to-day EHS support for lab and site operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, internal standards, and applicable regulatory requirements Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, procedures, and work practices to minimize risk to employees, equipment, and the environment Identify hazards, evaluate operational risks, and support the implementation of effective risk control measures Lead or support EHS compliance evaluations for facilities, programs, and operational activities, and drive follow-up actions to address identified gaps per company and governmental requirements Investigate incidents and accidents, determine contributing factors, and drive corrective actions and follow-up activities Gather and evaluate EHS information, prepare periodic or special reports, and communicate safety-related status, risks, and issues to EHS teams and business stakeholders Support and administer EHS training programs to strengthen awareness, compliance, and safe work practices Evaluate and help improve work methods, procedures, and internal policies to strengthen operational EHS performance and compliance effectiveness Provide EHS input during design review, new tool installation, and other change-related activities affecting lab or site operations Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews and implementation to ensure EHS risks are identified, assessed, and addressed before operational changes are introduced Participate in concept, feasibility, and operational readiness reviews from an EHS perspective Apply structured risk assessment and problem-solving methods, such as FMEA, HAZOP, PHA, 8D, RCA, or similar tools, as appropriate Partner with local and global stakeholders to support headquarters program deployment and cross-site EHS alignment Support selected technical safety review activities that require local ownership and independent assessment Qualifications / Capability Requirements Solid knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and company policies
