AMLI Residential | Legal & Risk Management Department Chicago, IL | Hybrid – 3 Days per Week in Downtown Chicago Office Salary: $60,000–$80,000 AMLI Residential is expanding its Legal & Risk Management team and is seeking a highly organized, proactive Transactions & Risk Coordinator to support our growing portfolio of real estate acquisitions. This newly created role will help keep complex transactions organized and on track from letter of intent through closing and post-closing.
The coordinator will evaluate transaction deliverables, identify gaps and potential risks, manage critical deadlines, coordinate due diligence activities and help ensure closing readiness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys project management, real estate, problem-solving and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, takes ownership and is comfortable managing multiple priorities and holding others accountable to deadlines.
The coordinator will work closely with the Transactions Director and will initially report to the VP, Legal & Risk Management . What You’ll Do Develop and manage deal-specific calendars, checklists and task trackers, as well as a master calendar providing leadership visibility into transaction status and deadlines. Track transaction deliverables and follow up with internal teams, outside counsel and third-party consultants to keep workstreams on schedule.
Review due diligence materials for completeness, consistency and potential risks; identify gaps and coordinate follow-up. Develop and recommend processes, templates and standard operating procedures to improve consistency and efficiency. Plan and coordinate property site visits, due diligence inspections and third-party consultants. Periodically travel to AMLI properties to coordinate onsite due diligence, work with property management teams and provide updates to transaction leadership.
Intake, organize and track non-disclosure agreements for real estate equity and debt transactions. Manage disposition data rooms, including document organization, buyer access and tracking due diligence requests and responses. Review closing binders from outside counsel for completeness and accuracy and maintain final transaction records. Coordinate and track post-closing obligations. Support insurance placements and maintain AMLI’s central insurance database, including renewals and expirations.
Assist with other transaction and risk management initiatives as needed. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 year’s of experience in real estate transactions, project management, construction management, property management or another deal-intensive environment preferred. Multifamily or commercial real estate, due diligence or property management experience is a plus. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and take ownership of assignments. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, attorneys, consultants and other stakeholders. Willingness to travel occasionally to AMLI properties and transaction-related sites. Technology & Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, OneNote and SharePoint.
Experience with SaaS platforms such as Entrata, Elise AI, Origami and NAVEX is preferred. Experience with deal, document or project management platforms is a plus. Comfort using AI-assisted tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or similar technologies is strongly preferred.
