Siehe Version auf Deutsch weiter unten In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll and HR operations for more than 1,000 employees in Switzerland.
As part of the HR Switzerland team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality payroll services, maintaining data integrity, and supporting employees and managers across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Head of HR Switzerland, you will manage the monthly payroll process and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR operational processes and systems. Your responsibilities: Independently execute the monthly payroll process for a workforce of more than 1,000 employees in Switzerland, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments.
Maintain, validate, and process payroll-relevant employee, organizational, compensation, time management, and absence data, including related changes, across Workday, SAP, and connected HR systems in accordance with statutory and internal requirements. Take responsibility for the accurate administration and validation of time and attendance data and ensure its correct processing within the monthly payroll cycle.
Perform pre- and post-payroll controls, error analyses, reconciliations, and quality checks to ensure accurate, compliant, and audit-ready payroll processing. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to payroll, social insurance, and withholding tax. Manage and coordinate employee entries, exits, and changes with social insurance institutions, pension funds, accident and sickness daily allowance insurers, and family allowance funds.
Support payroll accounting activities and collaborate closely with Finance on relevant payroll matters. Support and perform payroll year-end activities, including salary statements, statutory filings, and other required declarations. Handle and coordinate HR-related inquiries and service requests from employees, managers, and internal and external stakeholders. Take ownership of regular and ad-hoc payroll and HR reports, perform data analyses, and support audits and compliance requirements.
Your background: Commercial education or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by further education in Payroll, Social Insurance, or Human Resources. Several years of professional experience in Swiss payroll and operational HR processes. Good knowledge of Swiss social security, tax, and labour law. Good knowledge of Workday and SAP HCM. Advanced Excel skills and experience in payroll and HR reporting, data analysis, and data validation.
Experience working with HR systems and a good understanding of data quality and process interdependencies. High level of accuracy combined with strong quality awareness and sense of responsibility. Service-oriented, proactive, and independent working style. Fluent in German and English.
