Job Summary This role serves as a core member of the NERC Reliability Assurance team, participating in planning projects up-front and managing internal estimation process across teams. The Director defines and develops approaches and solutions for effective stakeholder engagement. Works with stakeholders, manages projects, delivers and identifies new ways to deepen and grow stakeholder relationships.
Helps guide stakeholders through highly collaborative processes, facilitates stakeholder participation and communicates regularly to manage the relationship. The Director is responsible for being one of the lead strategic consultants to internal and external stakeholders and charged with big-picture strategic thinking, but also have the opportunity to assemble and manage cross-discipline teams. Job Description What You'll Do: Lead "Policy and Engagement" team.
Manage leadership and stakeholder engagements, including strategy development, NERC committees, EEI NERC engagement and NERC standard drafting committees. Establish stakeholder trust and utilize engagements to help shape NERC standard landscape and future policies. Lead, develop and communicate AEP's engagement strategies and NERC positions. Ensure effective communication engagement with internal stakeholders.
Manage strategic development and deployment of projects with stakeholders. Provides advisory services as needed for new initiatives. What We're Looking For: Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience: Minimum eight years of experience. Other Must Haves: Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment. Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization Initiative taker, eager to break new ground, create opportunities for others.
Experience managing cross-functional development teams. Experience estimating resource and risk for various projects. Ability to concisely capture and align multiple business unit needs to shape policy. Advanced communication and writing skills. 40% travel required.
