Early Access: Your benefits start after just 30 days of employment About the Role Airgas is a global leader in industrial gases, and our Field Service Technicians play a vital role in keeping our customers' beverage and gas systems running reliably. While our route drivers focus on delivering and refilling CO2 microbulk tanks, Field Service Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and removing the bulk storage tanks and beverage carbonation systems on-site.
This is not a delivery route driving job . Although technicians operate commercial service vehicles such as F-550s or box trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL, driving is primarily how technicians travel between customer jobs across a broad geographic territory. Key Responsibilities Installation & Mechanics: Perform hands-on mechanical work using hand tools, power tools, and drills to run lines, install centralized Microbulk cryogenic tanks, set up gas monitors, and mount control boxes at commercial customer sites like restaurants, bars, and stadiums.
Note: The company provides all necessary tools, drills, and lines. Maintenance & Emergency Service: Respond to service calls, troubleshoot gas line or tank issues, perform system inspections, and replace faulty equipment to minimize downtime for the customer. Physical Work: The job involves physical tasks such as maneuverability on ladders, running tubing through ceiling tiles, drilling into structures, and using specialized hand trucks to maneuver large stainless steel tanks.
Autonomy & Schedule Flexibility: Technicians operate with a high degree of independence. You must be self-motivated, trainable, adaptable to shifting daily schedules, and willing to travel (including occasional overnight stays depending on the territory needs). ________________________ Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications: Valid Class A or Class B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements No more than two traffic convictions or at-fault accidents within the last three years.
No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven years Must be able to work in a drug-free environment Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months. Preferred Qualifications: CO2 or any specialty gas experience is a plus, but not required.
