Syndicate Exposure Manager Job Family Grouping: Exposure Management Job Family: Chief Underwriting Office How does this role contribute to our collective success? The exposure management function contributes significantly to the success of AXIS across all lines of business and interacts with virtually all areas of the company to ensure AXIS maintains an appropriate catastrophe risk strategy. The role is primarily focused on exposure management for AXIS Managing Agency syndicates, supporting the effective oversight and reporting of catastrophe risk across the Lloyd’s platform.
By maintaining a high standard of exposure management outputs, the role provides internal stakeholders with clear, timely and reliable information to support decision-making, while also ensuring external reporting to Lloyd’s is accurate, robust and delivered to the required standard. What will you do in this role? The role’s main responsibility is to lead the internal and external Exposure management reporting requirements for AXIS Managing Agency syndicates.
The role will also involve supporting on Group cat accumulations and MI where necessary. Key responsibilities include: Lloyd’s exposure management reporting • Ensure the timely completion and submission of various regulatory returns relating to exposure management for our Lloyd’s business (RDS, LCM, PBO, etc) • Key point of contact for EM with Lloyd’s • Liaise with non-nat cat exposure management teams (Casualty, Cyber, etc.) to ensure accurate exposure reporting.
Production of Exposure Management MI • Produce and analyse Nat Cat–focused exposure management MI for senior stakeholders within the Syndicate • Handle ad hoc queries from Actuarial, Risk and Underwriting and provide clear insights into portfolio movements, accumulations and catastrophe risk drivers. • Contribute to Group roll ups and reporting through detailed analysis and written commentary within formal reporting packs.
You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role, such as; Development of Exposure Management Tools - Work with internal developers and external software providers to maintain and enhance Exposure management tools ensuring they remain fit for purpose. Reinsurance Purchase Support - Provide Nat Cat exposure analysis and MI to support the reinsurance purchase process, including outward structure optimisation and portfolio validation.
Assist with scenario analysis and accumulation reporting as required. Cat Capital assessment – Review and assess methodology for allocating catastrophe capital to underwriting classes, and calculate during planning. Internal Model - Ensure Nat Cat feeds into the internal capital model are accurate and timely. Model Completeness - Assist in assessing non-modelled perils and regions and identifying appropriate methods to capture these exposures.
