Emergency Department Technician: – Emergency Department Emergency Department Technician in Springfield, MA | Baystate Health Careers Department: Emergency Location: Baystate Medical Center, Springfield Massachusetts Job Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Make an Impact with Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join our Emergency Department team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts .
Our Emergency Department team provides care to a diverse adult patient population, working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality care. Emergency Department Technician Responsibilities Include: · Patient Care & Monitoring: Provides safe, compassionate, age-appropriate care; obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, specimens, and other patient measurements; promptly reports changes in condition.
· Clinical Procedures & Testing: Performs phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, dressing changes, and other approved clinical procedures in accordance with BMC policies. · Treatment & Provider Support: Assists RNs and providers with patient care, examinations, treatments, procedures, and emergency situations within the assigned scope of practice. · Communication & Documentation: Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team and accurately documents patient care, observations, treatments, and testing in the EMR.
· Patient Safety & ED Operations: Maintains a safe, clean patient environment and collaborates with the healthcare team to support patient safety, teamwork, and efficient Emergency Department patient flow.
