We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented   Diet Office Associate/Nutrition Technician   to join our dietary services team.

In this role, you will be responsible for visiting patients to obtain and discuss menu selections, ensuring all choices align with prescribed dietary guidelines, and entering daily meal preferences into our system. You will manage diet office processes, including editing patient menus, tallying menu item counts, and preparing production sheets, while also overseeing tray assembly and verifying menu compliance to maintain high food quality and presentation standards.

This position requires the ability to deliver and serve meals, make independent judgments regarding special requests and nourishments, and interact professionally with patients, families, nursing staff, and dietary personnel. Working with minimal supervision, you may also assume lead responsibility for diet office operations in the absence of a supervisor, particularly during evening and weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing patients with menu and tray/patient meal service, for receiving and forwarding patient requests and communication to dietary staff when appropriate. Works to provide patient satisfaction with dietary and food services. This position is responsible for the diet office processes and may provide lead responsibility for diet office in absence of supervisor including making assignments for position coverage.

CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Visits patients to obtain or discuss menu selections based upon diet ordered. Using judgment, checks that patient selections are appropriate to the defined selections for the diet prescribed, and makes modified diet decisions whether in the diet office or on the patient unit as required. Enters or records all daily patient meal selections and preferences for one or more patient units.

Provides patients with standard information for prescribed diet. Requests Dietary staff assistance when needed. 2. Provides diet office processing including editing patient menus, tallying daily menu item counts from patient menus and preparing production sheets. 3. May lead in patient tray assembly/patient meal service process, assure food presentation meets quality standards, and check patient trays for menu compliance.

Under minimal supervision, this position interacts with patients and families, other food service staff, nursing staff, and dietary staff.
