FACULTY POSITION emlyon business school invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Supply Chain & Operations Management, open at the Associate level, Teaching track, to begin in September 2027. We are looking to recruit either : A candidate with a strong pedagogical profile , experienced in action learning , experiential education , and real-world project-based teaching ; And still demonstrating an academic research complementary profile , capable of publishing in peer-review academic journals and contributing to the school’s international research visibility.
This position is part of emlyon’s broader strategic ambition to combine academic excellence with impactful, hands-on learning that is deeply connected to the business world and societal challenges. YOUR ROLE AT EMLYON The selected candidate will join the Department (*) of ODAI and potentially the QUANT Research Centre ( https://aim.em-lyon.com/quant/ ), contributing to: The development and delivery of innovative, action-based learning experiences , closely tied to the professional ecosystem (corporates, startups, NGOs, etc.); Cutting-edge research in their area of expertise.
The successful candidate will contribute to various courses at undergraduate and graduate programs (from BBA to master level), and possibly at Executive level. Programs include our Master's program in Supply Chain & Operations Management, but not only. Most courses will be taught on the Lyon campus , with possible sessions on other emlyon campuses in France or internationally. The candidate will teach in programs and could be able to cover the full supply chain spectrum — from flow design to resilient execution — including topics such as: Lean operations, continuous improvement, Six Sigma Strategic sourcing, sustainable procurement, ESG in supply chains Supply chain planning, network design, and performance management Teaching is delivered in English to an international, multicultural student cohort.

Teaching-Oriented Profile Experience in project-based pedagogy , live business cases, corporate challenges, or learning-by-doing models Strong connections with business or institutional partners Ability to design and coordinate courses with a high level of engagement and applied learning Willingness to contribute to the strategic positioning of action learning within the school Able to publish intellectual contributions which consist in either pedagogical case studies, press articles, The Conversation contributions and/or academic peer-review articles.

Hybrid Profile Balanced expertise in both research and pedagogical innovation Ability to create synergies between research, teaching, and practice Interest in making academic knowledge actionable in the classroom and beyond Additional Requirements Desire to work in a collaborative, international environment Capacity for institutional service (program management, curriculum design, external representation) Fluency in English required; knowledge of French is a plus but not mandatory Willingness to relocate to Lyon or surrounding area (relocation support provided) The candidate will be expected to contribute to and will be regularly evaluated based on three areas of activities: (1) research and intellectual contributions performance, (2) teaching and student supervision, and (3) institutional service (e.g., administration, service in committees, representation of the school in the media and events).
