Role overview: The Operational Technology Solution Architect is a senior technical role responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure solutions and architectures for Operational Technology (OT) environments. This position translates enterprise cybersecurity architecture strategies into practical, implementable OT solutions that align with business objectives, effectively mitigate risks in industrial environments, support regulatory compliance, and enable secure technology adoption across OT systems, including ICS, SCADA, DCS, and IIoT.
The role requires strong solution design and product selection skills with deep expertise in OT security technologies, particularly Claroty and Cisco solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop secure solution architectures for Operational Technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with the enterprise cybersecurity architecture strategy, frameworks, and standards. Provide expert technical leadership in the solutioning of OT cybersecurity requirements for IT/OT convergence projects and industrial systems.
Collaborate with business leaders, OT operational teams, IT teams, and delivery teams to translate business needs and security requirements into robust, scalable, and secure OT solution designs. Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of appropriate OT security solutions and technologies, with particular focus on Claroty for asset visibility, exposure management, and risk mitigation, and Cisco technologies for secure industrial networking and segmentation.
Conduct solution-level risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to address security gaps in OT architectures. Ensure solution designs comply with architecture governance processes, standards, and regulatory requirements (including IEC 62443). Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to support the implementation, integration, and validation of secure OT solutions. Contribute to incident response planning and ensure solution resilience against OT-specific cyber threats.
Communicate complex OT solution architecture concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including project teams, plant operators, and senior leadership. Your profile Required 8+ years in IT or OT, with at least 5 years in cybersecurity solution architecture (including significant experience in OT or industrial control system security solutions). Expertise in designing secure solution architectures for Operational Technology environments.
Technical knowledge of Claroty and/ or Cisco industrial security solutions, OT protocols, segmentation strategies, Purdue Model, and IT/OT convergence. Excellent solution design and product evaluation skills for OT security and networking technologies. Ability to translate high-level architecture strategies and operational requirements into practical, implementable secure OT solutions. Strong collaboration and influencing skills across multidisciplinary teams, including OT operations.
