What will you be doing: As a Commercial Air Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial air network operations. You will monitor network performance, analyze operational data, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of shipments across the air network. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining service reliability and supporting FedEx's operational commitments to customers.
You will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing operational processes, identifying exceptions or performance variances, and investigating issues that may impact network performance. Using your analytical skills and operational expertise, you will recommend and implement corrective actions, ensuring processes are executed accurately and in accordance with established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
A significant aspect of the role involves driving continuous improvement. You will participate in or lead projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer service, reducing risk, and optimizing network performance. Working closely with teams across Network Control, Ramp Operations, Planning, Airline Partners, and other business functions, you will help design and implement process improvements, operational controls, and system enhancements.
You will also be responsible for producing and analyzing operational reports, monitoring key performance indicators, and providing insights and recommendations to management. Through effective stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, you will support decision-making, align priorities across teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of business objectives. As you develop within the role, you may take on increasingly complex responsibilities, provide guidance and training to colleagues, act as a subject matter expert within your area, and lead initiatives that have a broader operational or geographical impact across the network.
What do you bring with you: You bring experience in airline operations, network planning, transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are comfortable working with data, operational systems, and performance metrics to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive improvements. You possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners.
A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment will help you succeed, along with a commitment to operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.
