Fixed Assets Accounting

As a Fixed Assets Accounting student, you will support the accurate accounting and management of fixed assets across the organization. Your goal will be to work with other team members to assist in the capitalization of assets as well as other projects the team is working on. The Fixed Assets Accounting team is responsible for the accounting of fixed assets across our entire organization including both refineries, retail, fleet, terminals and Irving Energy operations.

This includes managing projects in progress by collaborating with project managers to identify assets that have been built or purchased, assigning appropriate costs, and setting them up in the subledger. The team also ensures assets are depreciated at the correct rates in accordance with accounting standards. The team sits within our Home Office under the Shared Services Accounting group in the Finance department.
