As a Risk Analyst Student, you will support the Middle Office & Quantitative Analytics team in executing daily trade valuation and risk reporting activities, contributing to the governance and performance measurement of Irving Oil’s Commodity Risk Management (CRM) program. You’ll also assist the Quantitative Analytics team with model development, gaining exposure to both physical and financial trading operations.

The Middle Office & Quantitative Analytics team is responsible for the governance, compliance, and reporting of activities under our Commodity Risk Management program, which helps to stabilize the company’s cash flow by mitigating the impact of price volatility in the financial derivatives market. The program ensures that even when market prices fluctuate unexpectedly, the organization can still meet its financial targets.

The team sits within our Home Office under the Governance, Planning & Risk department, and works closely with both the front and back office to manage contract documentation, monitor compliance, and report key metrics.
