ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In-person classes; Preparing, instructing and grading all class coursework; Assigning final grades; Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Economics, or a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Economics; Excellent communication skills both oral and written; Proven teaching skills with the ability to convey basic concepts and theories in a practical and comprehensible way; The ability to work with and teach to diverse populations is essential; The ability to apply traditional and innovative technologies is essential; The ability to develop and/or implement strategies to support students’ retention, persistence and program completion is essential; All instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Preferred: Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Economics; Two to five years teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.
