About the team you'll be part of Ofcom's Economics and Analytics Group (EAG) is a dynamic, international team of around 120 applied microeconomists, data analysts, behavioural economists and finance experts.

As experts in evidence, we provide thought leadership, technical and sector expertise, and financial and economic insights to shape policy and regulatory decisions. Within EAG, the Financial Analytics team provides financial analysis, forensic accounting and modelling expertise across all sectors regulated by Ofcom, including telecoms, post, broadcasting and online safety. This role will primarily support the Online Safety Group (OSG), helping to ensure regulatory and enforcement activities are underpinned by robust financial evidence, sound judgement and effective financial governance.

There may also be opportunities to support other areas of Ofcom, subject to business need. The purpose and scope of the role As a Senior Associate Financial Analyst within EAG supporting the OSG, you will play a key role in supporting the development and operation of Ofcom's Online Safety fees regime and providing financial analysis to support enforcement and regulatory activities. The role combines financial analysis, stakeholder engagement, financial and economic modelling, and regulatory oversight, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your Key Responsibilities You will collaborate with economists, policy professionals, lawyers, technologists, operational teams and enforcement specialists across Ofcom.

Support the operation and ongoing development of Ofcom's Online Safety fees regime, including reviewing financial submissions, assessing reported revenues and supporting fee calculations, invoicing and cost recovery activities. Perform financial analysis and reconciliations using statutory accounts, management information and other supporting evidence, identifying anomalies, inconsistencies and potential risks within submitted financial information.

Produce management information, revenue reporting and financial insights to support monitoring of fee regime performance and industry revenues. Conduct financial analysis to support compliance assessments, investigations and enforcement activity, including reviewing financial records, corporate structures and revenue streams. Prepare and present robust financial evidence and analytical outputs to support regulatory decision-making, appeals, challenges and information requests.

Work closely with legal, policy and enforcement teams to ensure financial evidence is accurate, defensible and clearly documented. Develop and maintain financial models to support revenue assessments, forecasting, scenario analysis and business planning activities. Gather, analyse and interpret complex financial and operational datasets, delivering accurate, transparent and evidence-based insights.
