POSITION SUMMARY : DISTRICT 23 is seeking one Assistant District Attorney for the prosecution of juvenile cases, to include but not limited to Juvenile Deprived, Juvenile Delinquent, and Youthful Offender, for the Pottawatomie and Lincoln County Offices of the District Attorney. BASIC PURPOSE: The Assistant District Attorney – Juvenile (Juvenile ADA) is an Assistant District Attorney under the general supervision of the District Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District of Oklahoma.
The Juvenile ADA represents the State of Oklahoma under the elected District Attorney in the various juvenile courts in Pottawatomie County and Lincoln County. The Juvenile ADA is an employee of the State of Oklahoma and serves at the pleasure of the District Attorney; to protect the public through proactively advocating as ministers of justice for public safety and welfare. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Juris Doctorate from accredited law school.
Admitted to and in good standing with Oklahoma Bar Association license to practice in OK Familiarity with the practice of juvenile law strongly preferred Possess excellent oral advocacy, legal analysis and legal writing and editing skills. Display strong organizational, interpersonal communication, problem solving and teamwork skills. Knowledge of applicable state and federal statutes and regulations; constitutional law and the Oklahoma constitution; regulatory policies and procedures; trial and hearing procedures; rules of evidence; various techniques for conducting investigations; methods and techniques for performing legal research; and communication, both oral and written.
