Job Description Old Mutual (Malawi) Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager – Reporting to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the financial integrity, sustainability, and performance of the Group. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Finance Officer (GCFO), the successful candidate will be responsible for leading financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, business performance management, treasury oversight, regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial governance across the Group.

The role serves as a critical link between business operations, actuarial functions, finance teams, and key stakeholders, providing insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations that support informed decision-making, sustainable growth, value creation, and regulatory compliance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. G roup Financial Reporting and Financial Control Lead the end-to-end Group financial reporting and consolidation process, ensuring accurate, complete and timely financial results.

Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, interim and annual financial results for Group management, Board and external reporting purposes. Ensure compliance with IFRS, Group accounting policies, regulatory requirements and applicable financial reporting standards. Review and challenge financial results, accounting treatments, material movements and significant judgements. Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial data across Group entities.

Lead the preparation of financial information and management reports for the GCFO, Group Executive Committee, Board and relevant governance committees. Ensure robust financial controls are maintained across Group finance processes. Identify control weaknesses, financial reporting risks and process gaps and drive appropriate remediation. Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex transactions and financial reporting matters.

Coordinate and oversee the resolution of financial reporting issues arising from internal and external audits. 2. Fi nancial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting Lead the Group annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes. Consolidate and challenge business unit budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with Group strategic objectives. Develop financial forecasts, scenarios and long-term financial plans to support strategic decision-making.

Monitor performance against budgets, forecasts and strategic targets and provide recommendations on significant variances. Assess the financial implications of strategic initiatives, business plans and major investments. Provide forward-looking financial insight to support resource allocation and financial sustainability. 3. F inancial Performance and Strategic Finance Provide strategic financial analysis and insight to the GCFO and senior management on Group performance.

Analyse revenue, expenses, profitability, capital utilisation, balance sheet performance and other key financial drivers. Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities and translate them into actionable recommendations. Lead the development of financial models and scenario analysis for strategic decision-making. Evaluate the financial viability and commercial sustainability of new products, business initiatives and strategic opportunities.

Provide financial input into major strategic initiatives, restructuring, acquisitions, business expansion and other corporate transactions. Support the development and execution of the Group's financial strategy. Challenge business assumptions and promote financially disciplined decision-making across the Group. 4. Capital, Solvency and Balance Sheet Management Lead the financial analysis and monitoring of the Group's capital position and capital adequacy.
