Job Description This role will provide the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge of OMAR (P&C)’s reinsurance arrangements across its countries. It offers opportunities to engage with country Reinsurance Managers, Finance teams and CFOs, and to present results and outcomes.
Responsibilities 1.Reinsurance Technical Accounting Prepare and process consolidated reinsurance technical accounts, including premium cessions, commission adjustments, profit commissions and premium adjustments, in line with treaty terms. 2.Reinsurance Reconciliations & Settlements Reconcile reinsurance balances, process cessions and recoveries, and manage the timely settlement of accounts with reinsurers and brokers, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
3.Outstanding Loss Reserves & Recoveries Maintain and monitor reinsurance outstanding loss reserves and claims recoveries, ensuring they are accurately recorded, supported and aligned to the underlying claims. 4.Treaty & Facultative Performance Analysis Analyse the profitability of each reinsurance programme, evaluate the cost of reinsurance, and make recommendations to improve treaty and facultative performance and reduce cost.
5.Insights and Reporting Contribute to the preparation of reinsurance reports, dashboards and management reporting on cost of reinsurance, recoveries and treaty performance to answer business questions. 6.Financial Reporting & IFRS 17 Support the correct accounting, measurement and disclosure of reinsurance under IFRS 17, ensuring ceded results are appropriately reflected in the financial statements.
