Department Overview The Trad ing department engages in financial market transactions and evaluates investment opportunities in currencies. It is responsible for the day-to-day management of trades, determining prices and executing Client trades in Monex products (FX Spot, Forwards, Options) in accordance with its regulatory requirements.
Job Overview The Tradi ng team are responsible for executing client orders in Foreign Exchange products and for executing the firm’s hedge position with banking counterparties. Trad ers liaise directly with clients and provide suitable assistance based on their knowledge of the client and the client’s requirements and execute their orders accordingly. Traders must have the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to undertake their role and uphold the highest standards of integrity.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Ensur ing clients are treated fairly and dealt with promptly and in accordance with the Monex Code of Conduct and company policies and regulatory expectations (note especially Spanish regulations, and expectation from the Bank of Spain and CNMV ); Liais ing promptly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure c lient’s margin positions are suitably managed in line with company policy ; Working closely with risk and compliance to ensure and maintain accurate and up-to-date client data; E nsur ing trades are placed with appropriate counterparties where applicable ; Ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is kept on FXDB.
A Trade r is responsible for: Understanding the market in which Monex operates and the factors necessary to undertake tradi ng services for clients ; Providing support with new product development Knowing your customer (KYC); e nsuring adequate knowledge of their client (KYC) to deliver appropriate and suitable products, services and advice and support onboarding ; Maintaining a knowledge and understanding of the economic climate and the likely impact upon Monex and its clients ; Understanding and managing market risk , counterparty risk and the operational risk which arises from the traders own activity Executing client orders with integrity, ensuring high service standards and in accordance with Monex values and policies ; Executing back-to-back transactions with Banking Counterparties in accordance with Monex policies, respecting market convention and the requirements of counterparties ; Providing training to the sales team regarding MiFID products Assisting with marketing material for clients regarding MiFID products Recording and maintaining all trad ing activity logs in accordance with Monex policy using Monex approved media ; Identifying and avoiding conflicts of interest ; Maintaining good client relationships built on integri
