INFUSION CENTER TECHNCIAN- Full Time- Day

Job Summary The Infusion Center Technician performs both patient care and non-patient care functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Essential Functions Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors Show flexibility in job responsibilities to meet the needs of the patients and the needs of the Infusion Center. Performs tasks and job duties that include but are not limited to: vital signs, intake & output (I &O), electrocardiograms (EKGs), documentation of patient care performed, simple dressing changes, specimen collection, assisting with meals, errands, transporting of patients or specimens, medications and blood products, ambulating of patients, weighs patients, assists physicians with procedures and physical exams and performs clerical duties.

Integrates patient’s rights into work practice. Utilizes current methods of infection control. Participates in Performance Improvement Initiatives. Utilizes appropriate steps in the decision making process to include recognition and priority setting related to patient care and unit based issues. Collaborates and communicates with the health care team. Completes competency requirements. Attends mandatory inservices.

Attends staff meetings as required. Utilizes cost containment practices. Performs all other related duties as assigned Qualifications High School Required or GED Required 1-3 years Previous Hospital/Patient Care experience preferred Preferred BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association within 180 Days Required   White Plains Hospital Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
