Office/Bureau : Maine State Ferry Service Location : Isleboro, ME Opening Date : September 8, 2026 Closing Date: September 22, 2026 This position is located on Islesboro Island. The Maine State Ferry Service offers transportation to and from several of Maine's island communities. This is administrative work of a supervisory nature in overseeing, monitoring, and coordinating the provision of operational support services for the Maine State Ferry Service (MSFS) facility including ferry terminal loading dock.
Work includes overseeing terminal operations, including ticket sales, reservations, and fee collections; managing customer relations; and performing the duties and responsibilities of the Alternate Facility Security Officer. Supervision is exercised over ticket agents engaged in support services. Work is performed under limited supervision. The successful candidate would be able to start and end their day on the island of Islesboro without the use of the Maine State Ferry Service.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: 4 years of experience, education, and/or training in complex office support work and providing customer service to the public and managing customer relations including 1 year of supervisory experience. Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements: (Some positions may require possession of a valid Class B Maine Motor Vehicle Operator’s License) Required to have a current TWIC Card - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card.
