Executive Director – General Ledger SAP Lead Location: New York, NY About Finance Technology at Morgan Stanley Finance Technology is a global engineering organization that builds and operates the platforms that power the firm’s global Finance function. We partner closely with Finance to modernize Finance architecture, enhance data quality, automate workflows, and apply advanced analytics and AI to increase accuracy, efficiency, and control.

We act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing technology solutions to support the management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. We protect the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Technology leader to lead the global General Ledger SAP organization within Finance Technology, partnering with the Global Finance and Corporate Services Leads.

The role would have responsibilities for the General Ledger, Fixed Asset, Accounts Payable and Consolidations platforms as implemented via SAP ECC and in the future S4. The role will be responsible for setting strategy, delivering technology solutions, and developing a high‑performing engineering team. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who blends strong Finance domain knowledge with technical depth and modern engineering practices.

The team is global organization with resources in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate would be a forward‑thinking, hands‑on technology leader who brings deep Finance understanding, strong engineering skills, and passion for using modern data and AI to transform how Finance operates at Morgan Stanley. Key Responsibilities Execute on the upgrade from ECC/BPC to S/4 for GL, AP, FA and Consolidations Leadership & Strategy Day to day management of the SAP Technology team Define and execute the technology strategy for the global SAP organization Partner closely with the Finance and Corporate Services clients on priorities, requirements, and transformation initiatives Drive modernization of systems, workflows, and data through engineering excellence, automation, and AI Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global team Execution & Delivery Oversee architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of SAP platforms Ensure system scalability, data quality, resiliency, and operational control Promote best practices in workflow automation, DevOps, and data engineering Required Skills Experience upgrading from an on-prem version of SAP to SAP-RISE.

Finance Domain Expertise. Knowledge of SAP ECC, SAP S/4, and Data Management. Prior roles leading teams of 15+ technologists within financial services or complex enterprises Hands-on engineering leadership and problem‑solving Strong data engineering and data modelling experience Excellent communicator across senior and junior colleagues Strong listening, influencing, and relationship‑building abilities Highly organized, flexible, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment Proven people manager with experience growing and motivating teams Ability to manage large numbers of consumers with evolving requirements.
