This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Description of Work Reporting to a Correctional Programs Supervisor at a multi-custody female correctional facility, this position provides case management services to an assigned caseload of offenders.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Performing regular periodic classification reviews, needs assessments, plans, job assignments, program referrals and regular scheduled one-on-one contact for the purposes of correctional and/or motivational counseling. 2. Providing transitional information, assisting with housing and recommendations for the classification upon offender review and assisting with onsite activities.
3. Communicating effectively with other staff, offenders, and the general public. 4. Working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders, who can become physically violent and verbally abusive, being capable of defending oneself against attack and performing crisis interventions to include suicide prevention. 5. Preparing written reports which accurately reflect data reviewed by various sources, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating various documents and behavior data gathered from interviews, written documentation, and personal observation.
6. This is a certified position and employees may be subject to assist in any certified capacity as needed. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the Minimum Education and Experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required but applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business needs.
