The NC State Parks has a Maintenance/Construction Technician II position available. This role is responsible for hands on work maintaining grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment.

Work includes, custodial tasks, boundary line clearing, routine maintenance, trail maintenance, trash collection, mowing and trimming, prescribed burn assistance and/or auto mechanics. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Operations: opening duties to include basic maintenance and cleaning of facilities • Groundskeeping: mowing, tractor operations • Trail building and trail maintenance to include footbridges, steps, tree hazard removal.

• Facility maintenance: painting, carpentry, plumbing, air filter replacement, etc. on all buildings • Basic automotive and small engine care; cleaning, sharpening blades/ chains, changing oil, etc. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences ** This is a repost. Applicants who  possess the following are preferred: Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at  least   two  of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics. Demonstrated experience in performing grounds   maintenance/landscaping. Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds maintenance equipment.

Position/Physical Requirements:   Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, must be able to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends when necessary. This schedule may vary. Must be able to perform work inside and outside in various environmental conditions with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
