ABOUT THE ROLE As the Associate Manager, Site Engineering , you will support manufacturing operations by managing capital equipment projects and operational improvement initiatives to help ensure a safe, high-quality, and high-performance work environment. You will lead initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional partners across Maintenance, Manufacturing Operations, Safety, Learning & Development, and Lean organizations to ensure new and revised processes are implemented effectively and with precision.

In this role, you will continuously identify opportunities to eliminate losses, build new capabilities, and implement new technologies, with a primary focus on improving safety, quality, cost, and productivity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage new equipment capital projects from the concept phase through startup. Develop project budgets, obtain funding approval, and manage project costs throughout the life of each project.

Develop equipment and process specifications for new equipment using the SCJ Early Management Engineering work process. Investigate, drive, and assist in the implementation of cost-saving projects, manufacturing process optimization, business process optimization, and productivity improvements related to existing manufacturing equipment and processes. Collaborate with R&D, procurement, and process development teams during the new product development process to ensure all new product specifications are aligned with manufacturing capabilities within the site.

Develop site standards and best practices for equipment and processes for application across other areas of the site. Participate in the capital planning process and development of strategic equipment plans for the site. Act as a technical resource and mentor to peers. Ensure compliance with SCJ Global Standards and other regulations that may apply. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related manufacturing or industrial discipline.

Minimum of 10 years of experience managing capital projects in a manufacturing environment. Experience in consumer-packaged goods, food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, or a similar high-volume manufacturing industry. Experience specifying custom equipment to meet project objectives. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Technical experience with filling, labeling, and packaging equipment and processes related to aerosol or liquid-container products. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin. Cost-estimating experience, including the ability to establish project budgets and execute projects within budget targets. Knowledge of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) principles and experience applying them to new equipment to achieve performance targets.

Experience using 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) systems for plant layouts and machine design. Experience with process failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and process control planning methodologies. Knowledge of machine safety principles, risk assessment, and applicable International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
