Coming soon to the Las Vegas Strip, Hard Rock Las Vegas will be a fully integrated luxury resort offering world-class hospitality, gaming, dining, entertainment and retail. Positioned on the 50-yard line of the Strip, the resort will feature a nearly 700 ft. guitar-shaped hotel that will change the Las Vegas skyline. The finished complex will feature over 3,700 hotel rooms, approximately 175,000 square feet of gaming space, two spas, multiple pools, live entertainment venues and dozens of restaurants, lounges and retail outlets.
Job Summary : Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Director of Finance directs the activities for general finance budgetary control and management reporting . Directs the preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual management financial reporting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensure activities comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, legal demands and professional and ethical standards.
Comply with all internal policies and procedures. Develops, analyzes and interprets statistical and financial information to assess operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and industry benchmarks. Directs the coordination of the annual budget process to include developing procedures and guidelines for division and department heads. Prepares and reviews proformas and budgets for new and existing operations.
Analyzes and develops policies, procedures and systems to ensure effective internal controls, optimum efficiencies and improvement of processes. Works with external auditors and other third parties on financial matters as necessary. Conducts special projects as requested by senior management. Directs the activities of gaming and non-gaming financial reporting, revenue controls, general accounting and 3 rd party food and beverage financial reporting.
Coordinates property payroll activities. Ensures accounts payable is processed timely and accurately and in accordance with company accounts payable policies. Directs the analysis, review and presentation to senior management of all financial results, including monthly and year-end financial results ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensures integrity of financial statements including the balance sheet.
Develops policies, procedures and internal controls within directly assigned areas to ensure compliance with applicable laws, efficiency and proper controls. Responsible for budgetary control to effectively manage capital purchases within pre-approved budgets. Informs the Vice President of Finance of any legal, auditing or other significant problems. Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc.
Conduct personal behavior and select, train, coach, counsel, appraise and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values. Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations. Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc. Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance and five (5) years of accounting/ financial management experience in the casino industry or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
Certified Public Accountant and/or MBA preferred.
