Job Description Overview The Civil Engineer will be responsible for supervising and monitoring civil construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards. The role will support the delivery of high-quality building and infrastructure works associated with large-scale developments by ensuring construction is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives.
Your role Construction Supervision Inspect civil works including earthworks, roads, pavements, drainage systems, utilities, foundations, and external infrastructure. Verify construction activities are executed in accordance with approved methodologies and engineering standards. Monitor workmanship and ensure all works meet project quality requirements and specifications. Witness inspections and testing activities related to civil construction works and materials.
Ensure deficiencies are identified promptly and corrective actions are implemented effectively. Technical Review and Coordination Review shop drawings, material submissions, technical proposals, and construction methodologies submitted by contractors. Coordinate with structural, architectural, MEP, and landscape teams to resolve design and construction interface issues. Evaluate requests for information, technical queries, and proposed modifications impacting civil works.
Support the review of value engineering proposals and construction alternatives related to civil infrastructure. Provide technical advice and recommendations to address construction challenges and improve project outcomes. Quality Assurance and Compliance Ensure compliance with approved project quality plans, specifications, and construction standards. Review laboratory test results, inspection records, and quality documentation related to civil works.
Monitor implementation of inspection and test plans and ensure required approvals are obtained. Identify non-conforming works and ensure corrective and preventive measures are effectively implemented. Participate in quality audits and compliance reviews as required by the project. Site Inspection and Progress Monitoring Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, construction progress, and compliance with approved requirements.
Monitor contractor resources, productivity, and progress against approved construction schedules. Verify completion of works prior to subsequent construction activities and inspections. Track project milestones and highlight delays, constraints, or potential risks to project management. Ensure site records accurately reflect construction status and inspection outcomes. Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with Client representatives, contractors, consultants, authorities, and project teams on civil engineering matters.
Participate in progress meetings, technical workshops, and site coordination meetings. Assist in resolving site-related issues and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders. Coordinate inspection activities with quality, HSE, laboratory, and supervision teams. Support project management in achieving project objectives and maintaining stakeholder satisfaction. Reporting and Documentation Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on construction progress, inspections, and compliance activities.
Maintain records of site inspections, testing results, approvals, technical reviews, and correspondence. Review contractor reports and verify the accuracy of reported progress and quality information. Document non-conformance reports, site observations, corrective actions, and technical recommendations. Ensure all project documentation is properly maintained and available for audits and project reviews.
