About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Team S&P Global Ratings' Editorial & Design team is a global group of approximately 100 professionals across offices worldwide, sitting within the Analytical Business Operations and Controls division. The team partners with credit analysts, economists, editors, and designers to transform complex financial research and data into compelling published content and visualizations.

Responsibilities and Impact Design and produce clear, engaging data visualizations — including charts, infographics, and interactive graphics — that enhance storytelling and support published articles across digital platforms. Collaborate with credit analysts, editors, and developers to transform complex financial research into compelling multimedia content and data-driven articles.
Develop and pitch data-driven story ideas, applying digital-first principles including plain language, brevity, and innovative visualization approaches. Manage design projects from submission through to publication, ensuring accuracy, house style compliance, and adherence to global brand and publishing standards. Perform production tasks including page layout, design, and desktop publishing across a range of report formats, maintaining error-free outputs under tight deadlines.
Uphold ethical standards in data reporting and visualization, presenting findings in both written and visual formats for publication. What We're Looking For Basic Required Qualifications An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of relevant experience in data journalism, visual storytelling, or digital content production in a business media or financial services environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Demonstrated experience with data visualization software, such as Tableau, Datawrapper, Flourish, or Adobe Illustrator. Strong technical aptitude with content management systems, publishing platforms, and content creation workflow tools. Sound knowledge of financial market terminology and concepts, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly.
English: Fluent — required (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally). Additional Preferred Qualifications Ability to analyze and process data using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Python, or R. Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in content creation and data journalism. Knowledge of emerging data journalism tools and techniques.
Education: A qualification in graphic design, digital journalism, data journalism, or visual communications is an advantage. Additional Information We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer. Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
