About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 Responsibilities and Impact: Lead process improvement initiatives across the end-to-end index governance lifecycle, directly impacting operational efficiency and data quality for critical financial indices Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify gaps and prototype innovative solutions using advanced data platforms such as Databricks and Python Design and implement automated workflows and applications that streamline index operations, reducing manual effort and enhancing accuracy Take ownership of existing Power Automate flows while building new automation solutions that support business continuity and operational excellence Manage and optimize data ingestion pipelines and methodology databases, ensuring robust data infrastructure that supports strategic decision-making Drive strategic projects as assigned by leadership, providing exposure to high-visibility initiatives and senior stakeholders across the organization What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python programming and data analysis in a business environment, including code you have taken to production Direct experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory for data processing and pipeline management Proficiency in database technologies including SQL and relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server Experience with automation and workflow tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps or similar business process automation platforms Ability to take a vague business problem and return working code — you scope it, build it, and ship it without needing a requirements document handed to you Additional Preferred Qualifications: Direct hands-on Databricks experience, including application prototyping, data ingestion pipeline management, and database management Experience in financial services, particularly with index management, data governance, or regulatory compliance processes Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps for collaborative development and code management Knowledge of business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms for data reporting and analytics Demonstrated experience leading process reengineering initiatives or automation projects that resulted in measurable efficiency improvements Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000.
Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
