Department: Paragon Fleet Maintenance Group Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliners. This includes all general and complex repairs. Multiple shifts available. JOB DESCRIPTION:   Key Responsibilities   Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards  Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair  Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair  Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair  Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair  Preventable Maintenance repairs  Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery  Maintaining a clean and neat shop  Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned  QUALIFICATIONS:   Minimum Qualifications   Basic Tool set for job functions  1+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience  Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.

Basic computer skills required  Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction  Valid Class C driver's license  Ability to clearly read, write and speak English  Basic math calculations  Preferred Qualifications   Cummins or Detroit Certifications  Commercial Inspection Certification  SKILLS AND ABILITIES:     Engine diagnosis Engine repair Preventable maintenance Wheel Seals Water Pumps A/C Components Compressors Air and hydraulic braking systems APU's Basic Math Tool Utilization Truck Repair Electronic Diagnostics Mechanical Repair Knowledge of Cummins X15 engine Knowledge of Detroit DD15 engine Diesel Repair Fleet Mechanic/Technician experience   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:    Maneuvering around, in, on, and under trucks/tight spaces to properly inspect and diagnose problems  Standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body movements  Using hands to handle, control or feel  Climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms  Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds  Work Experience:   1+ years as Diesel Technician Medical, Vision, Dental, Supplemental, and Life Insurances available + 401(k) retirement plan and quarterly match.
