Join us as a Commercial Senior Relationship Manager We’re looking for someone to manage and develop a defined portfolio of our commercial banking customers You’ll be managing clients effectively while also maintaining a visible and positive presence in other parts of the business and the external market Your time will be split between client meetings at their premises, collaborating with colleagues in our Glasgow office a minimum of one day a week, or as required, with the remainder working remotely The role will include regular travel across a wide geographic area, with customers located in Lanarkshire and throughout Dumfries and Galloway With your commitment to succeed, we’ll help you to achieve relevant qualifications to allow you to excel in your role What you'll do In this fast-paced role, you’ll build and maintain strong relationships with your portfolio of customers.
Specialising in commercial banking, we’ll look to you to drive sales activity and deliver a proactive and exceptional customer service, providing products and services which meet their needs. Additionally, you’ll develop and maintain working relationships with key business and functional partners, to ensure a cooperative approach to relationship management and lead generation. You’ll also be: Designing and delivering a strategy to identify sources of new business and manage and grow existing relationships Identifying and meeting customer needs and making sure our pricing is fair and transparent Taking ownership for and regularly contributing to the delivery of business goals Working together to build trust and long-term sustainable value for customers and colleagues Demonstrating an effective use of tools for contact and strategy planning, identifying and meeting customer needs and recording The skills you'll need In this role, you’ll need to have specific knowledge and experience of commercial banking.
We’ll also be looking for you to have experience of building strong relationships with customers and a good understanding of SME businesses along with a proactive approach and commercial awareness. In addition, you'll look to build relationships with external networks in your local community to support you with winning new business development opportunities from Lanarkshire to Dumfries and Galloway.
We’d also like you to have: Sound knowledge and experience in financial analysis, credit stewardship and a detailed understanding of the banking sector Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with senior colleagues The ability to build trust with customers and contribute to a collaborative and enthusiastic working environment within our team What else you need to know Achieving a Diploma in Lending Skills is just one of the ways we’ll help you to thrive in your role.
A Diploma in Lending Skills is a professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers that’s widely recognised across our industry, and designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills relating to the commercial lending environment in our digital age. With 18 months to complete your studies, you’ll have the ability to tailor a journey to your own individual learning needs too, which will combine self-study in the form of workbooks and e-learning, and workshops.
