Join us as a Climate & Environment Manager in RBS International (RBSI) Take on a role that has significant focus across the business, in a team responsible for helping to research, develop, and execute the environment and climate strategy for the bank You’ll have the opportunity to develop and maintain a strong network of contacts across stakeholder groups to help inform our approach to environmental issues and policy This role offers excellent development and visibility, and the work you do will help us to achieve our goal of becoming a more sustainable bank What you'll do As a Climate & Environment Manager, you’ll be helping to advise, inform, and support relevant parts of the bank and be responsible for developing a sector-leading environment strategy through supporting the delivery of climate purpose commitments.
We’ll look to you to gather knowledge and research on environmental issues and how they affect customers and the bank, while making sure that internal teams understand the standard needed and options to meet this. As well as this, you’ll be providing your expertise to our franchises and functions and supporting the engagement with internal and external stakeholders around environmental issues to help demonstrate thought leadership and proactive engagement.
Your other key responsibilities will include: Managing the development of RBSI’s Climate & Nature Risk maturity through delivery of key programmes, regulatory requirements, and governance expectations Helping to produce advice and information to help frontline teams and governance forums make informed decisions about environmental issues Identifying and driving innovation opportunities related to current and emerging environmental issues and trends Proactively working with our business areas and functions to consider the risks and opportunities presented by environmental issues and trends Driving initiatives to actively engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on environmental risks and opportunities The skills you'll need We’re looking for someone with good knowledge of and an interest in environmental sustainability issues, including climate change and how they relate to business and banking.
You should also have experience of leading or supporting innovative projects or programmes within the sustainability space. Along with supplier and relationship management experience, you'll have experience of engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies. In addition, you’ll demonstrate: Experience of dealing with technical and complex information, reports and data and the ability to distil information succinctly A track record of successfully collaborating with teams, managing projects and driving initiatives within the climate and environment space.
Strong working knowledge of RBSI as a business, including its functions, jurisdictions, regulators, and customers Risk skills and experience; plan-development, measuring and monitoring, governance and reporting of key risk metrics Experience of regulatory engagement, including responses to consultations and preparation of compliance plans; strong working knowledge of RBSI’s regulators is preferred Hours 35 Job Posting Closing Date: 22/09/2026 Ways of Working:Remote First
