Our Finance team plays a critical role in this journey, ensuring the Bank maintains strong financial discipline, robust balance sheet management, and scalable finance capabilities that support sustainable growth. Through close partnership with Treasury, Risk, Product, Data, and Technology teams, Finance provides the insights and governance needed to balance growth ambitions with prudent financial and regulatory management.
Role Overview This role sits at the intersection of Balance Sheet Management, Product Profitability, Treasury Finance, and Finance Systems. Reporting into Head of Financial Control & Reporting, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the Bank maintains a well-managed balance sheet, effective capital deployment, and a robust profitability framework across products and business lines.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical rigour, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate a fast-evolving digital banking environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Treasury, Risk, Product, Technology, and Data teams to deliver actionable insights, strengthen financial transparency, and continuously enhance the Bank's systems, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Balance Sheet Management (BSM) Support the Bank's Balance Sheet Management framework by monitoring liquidity, funding, interest rate risk, capital utilisation, and overall balance sheet positioning. Partner closely with Treasury and Risk teams to support effective Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) governance, reporting, and decision-making. Perform ongoing analysis of key balance sheet metrics, proactively identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact the Bank's financial position.
Develop scenario analyses and financial models to assess the impact of market movements, funding strategies, product growth, and capital actions on profitability and regulatory metrics. Prepare management dashboards, performance reports, and analytical insights to support balance sheet optimisation and strategic planning activities. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of balance sheet management methodologies, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
Product Control & Commercial Finance Develop a deep understanding of the Bank's products, customer propositions, and commercial drivers, assessing their impact on profitability, funding requirements, and balance sheet structure. Support new product initiatives by providing financial assessments, profitability analysis, and balance sheet impact evaluations throughout the product development lifecycle.
Partner with Product, Treasury, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure new products are appropriately configured within Workday and relevant financial systems. Establish appropriate financial controls, reporting structures, and performance monitoring mechanisms for both existing and new product offerings. Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) & Product Profitability Own the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Bank's Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework, ensuring appropriate allocation of funding costs and benefits across products and business units.
