 Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Responsible for follow-up insurance billing and collection activities, verifying accuracy and completeness of claims, contacting insurance companies and other related duties to expedite payments from various payers for physician services. Responsible for preparing payment disbursements, researching refund requests and private physician bills.
Updates and maintains global transplant patient listing based on transplant phase and payer information. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Performs collection follow-up duties for global transplant payers to ensure timely and accurate payment of physician charges and hospital charges. Responds to questions and requests received from clinical departments, insurance companies and hospital facilities.
Reviews correspondence and remittances for rejections and verification of accuracy. Runs disbursement queries and prepares payment remittance spreadsheets for each patient. Processes and verifies accuracy of refund requests. Prepares weekly billing spreadsheets for submission to hospital facility. Processes final billing requests including department notification, verification of charge submission and payment receipt and forwards to hospital facility.
Assists with special accounts receivable projects. Meets with clinical department staff to discuss payer issues. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions Normal office environment Primarily remote with the exception of coming into the office at least once a month. Work Experience: Insurance Or Collection In A Healthcare Environment (2 Years) Skills: Electronic Medical Billing, ICD 9 and CPT Coding Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position. More About This Job Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with diagnosis, physician and hospital coding. Must meet established productivity and quality assurance standards to ensure effective collections and claim resolutions.
