Who we're looking for Toyota Financial Services' DevOps Department is seeking a Lead, DevOps Engineer to operate on the individual-contributor track. This is a senior technical leadership role for an engineer who drives outcomes through deep technical expertise, cross-team influence, and hands-on execution rather than through people management.
The Lead, DevOps Engineer sets technical direction for cloud-native platforms, defines DevOps and automation standards across multiple teams, and is accountable for the reliability, scalability, security, and delivery velocity of critical technology products. This individual acts as a force multiplier — elevating the capabilities of engineers across the department while remaining deeply hands-on with architecture, automation, and platform engineering.
What you'll be doing A typical day in this role is hands-on engineering, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Success means helping teams move faster while making systems more reliable, secure, and scalable. You’ll work closely with fellow engineers and partners across the department to improve how software is built, deployed, and supported. As part of this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation solutions for platform management.
You are also expected to lead the team and help the junior engineers in team to excel at the DevOps and automation best practices.
