Role Overview TP ICAP's Risk Technology (sitting withing Corporate Functions) function owns the platforms that power market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk management globally. We are delivering a multi-year Risk Technology Roadmap to modernise a legacy estate of Oracle Forms, .NET, and Excel-based systems into a modern AWS serverless platform — while building new capabilities in intraday exposure monitoring, margin prediction, and automated alerting.

The roadmap spans multiple concurrent workstreams and delivery is accelerating through AI-assisted engineering. We need a Product Owner who can translate complex risk domain requirements into prioritised backlogs and drive engineering teams to deliver at pace. You will sit at the intersection of business and technology — working with Financial Risk Management, trading desks, and engineering teams to shape what gets built and when.

This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable making prioritisation decisions that balance strategic modernisation with immediate operational needs. Role Responsibilities Own and prioritise the Product Backlog, ensuring user stories are well defined and meet the agreed Definition of Ready. Collaborate with Product/Programme Managers to align delivery with product strategy and roadmap. Support development teams by clarifying requirements, providing business context, and guiding sprint goals.

Apply customer‑centric thinking using feedback, usability insights, and market inputs to validate and refine solutions. Lead creation of user stories, acceptance criteria, and relevant artefacts such as workflows or mock‑ups. Coordinate cross‑team delivery, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment. Conduct backlog grooming, prioritisation reviews, and contribute to PI planning and Agile ceremonies.

Review prototypes, proofs of concept, and completed increments to ensure they meet business needs. Support UAT and ensure functional outcomes meet customer and business expectations. Experience / Competences Essential Proven experience as a Product Owner or BA in financial services technology, ideally within risk, post-trade, or capital markets. Strong stakeholder management — able to engage credibly with both engineers and senior business stakeholders.

Solid grasp of Agile delivery (Scrum or SAFe), including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria. Ability to decompose complex requirements into well-defined, deliverable user stories. Comfortable working with Jira and Confluence as core delivery tools. Clear communicator who can translate between business language and technical detail without losing either. Experience working within or alongside multi-year transformation programmes with cross-team dependencies.

Desired Understanding of front‑to‑back trade lifecycle or complex enterprise technology workflows. Experience in financial markets, trading, broking, or liquidity solutions.
