Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: Pharmacy Technician – Closed-Door Pharmacy The Pharmacy Technician supports medication order processing for contracted long-term care and behavioral health facilities, including Adult Foster Care Homes (AFCs), Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), and Community Mental Health (CMH) programs. This position offers comprehensive training in pharmacy operations, beginning with medication packaging and progressing into order entry and customer service responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities: - Process and prepare medication orders for contracted facilities. - Learn and operate pharmacy packaging and workflows. - Maintain accuracy and efficiency in medication packaging and order fulfillment. - Transition into the Order Entry department after completing initial packaging training. - Answer incoming calls from facilities, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. - Enter and process prescription orders accurately in the pharmacy management system.

- Utilize QS1 and DocuTrack systems for prescription processing, order entry, and workflow management. - Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to ensure timely service and compliance with pharmacy regulations and company procedures. SCHEDULE Rotating weekday shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM (once a week and once every 4th Friday) Weekend rotation: One weekend every 4th weekend Weekend hours: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM Holiday rotation: Approximately 1–2 holidays per year Holiday hours: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM Pharmacy Systems: - QS/1 - DocuTrack This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual seeking to build a strong foundation in long-term care pharmacy operations while developing expertise in medication packaging, order entry, customer service, and pharmacy technology systems.

SUMMARY Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors and staff. QUALIFICATIONS Education Minimum High school education or equivalent. Preferred Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program; or two years of college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field applications.

Credentials/Licensure Minimum Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan. Preferred Active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Related Experience Minimum Two years of pharmacy work experience. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum Good written and verbal communication skills. Good math skills (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction) in calculations involving fractions, decimals, percentages and volumes.

Computer Competency Familiarity with standard desktop and windows based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions. Physical/Mental Minimum Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing IV admixtures, use of a computer keyboard). May require lifting and carrying loads up to 40 lbs., including boxes, equipment, unit dose-cassettes, and IV solutions and stooping or kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers).

Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) often. Must be able to physically operate the equipment for the job. WORKING CONDITIONS Potential for exposure to infectious patients and materials. Potential for exposure to hazardous and toxic substances (including chemotherapy, cytotoxic drugs, and cleaning solutions). Potential for sticks or cuts by needles and other sharp items.

Potential for musculoskeletal injuries if proper lifting and carrying techniques are not used. ORGANIZAT
