United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – AGI & Interfaces to lead the delivery of the Above Ground Installations (AGIs) on the landmark Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture Scheme, working closely with Eni as part of one of the UK's most significant energy transition projects. This role will play a critical part in delivering a first-of-its-kind, large diameter, high-pressure carbon capture pipeline system and associated infrastructure across the North West of England.
The Role Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for the strategy, planning, execution, and successful delivery of the Above Ground Installation scope, leading a team of approximately 100 direct employees alongside specialist subcontractors and key delivery partners. As the senior lead for AGIs and project interfaces, you will manage complex technical, operational, and stakeholder challenges while ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially successful project delivery.
You will work closely with engineering, construction, commercial, and planning teams, acting as a key decision-maker on technical interfaces and battery limit definitions across the project. In addition to project delivery responsibilities, you will support wider business initiatives including bid development, project mobilisation, system improvement, and workforce development across the Major Projects business.
Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of all Above Ground Installation works across the project. Provide leadership and direction to project teams, subcontractors, and delivery partners. Manage technical interfaces between AGIs, pipeline systems, and third-party stakeholders. Drive project performance in relation to safety, quality, programme, and cost. Work closely with Eni and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Oversee planning, resource management, procurement, and construction activities. Support decision-making on complex engineering and operational matters. Define and manage battery limits and interface responsibilities across multiple work packages. Identify and mitigate project risks while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Contribute to business development activities, tenders, future project opportunities, and organisational development.
About You Experience within the energy, utilities, pipeline, oil & gas, or major infrastructure sectors. Proven experience leading large, technically complex construction projects. Strong knowledge of high-pressure gaseous systems, pipeline infrastructure, and related facilities. Demonstrable leadership experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors. Sound contractual and commercial awareness.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organisation. Full UK Driving Licence. Incorporated Engineer (
