Job Description About the department UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group.
Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank’s growth ambition. The AML Account Closure Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the end‑to‑end process of AML‑driven account closures arising from escalations, investigations, and compliance assessments.
This role ensures that closure decisions are risk‑based, well‑documented, and compliant with regulatory expectations, internal policies, and standards. The incumbent will lead cross‑functional coordination, drive operational efficiency, and maintain strong governance over the account exit process. Key Responsibilities 1. Account Closure Governance & Execution Lead the end‑to‑end AML account closure workflow, ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑supported closure decisions.
Ensure all closure recommendations meet regulatory expectations (e.g., MAS 626, FATF standards) and internal risk frameworks. Oversee proper documentation, justifications for each closure case. 2. Case Management & Escalation Handling Review closure actions from analysts and providing guidance and final approval where required. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on closure decisions.
3. Stakeholder Management & Communication Serve as the central liaison for all AML account closure matters Communicate closure decisions professionally to Business Units and senior management. Partner with Frontline teams to mitigate customer friction while upholding standards. 4. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting Ensure full compliance with regulatory obligations, including customer off‑boarding requirements and reporting timelines.
Support L1.5, L2 and L3 inspections, internal audits, and thematic reviews involving account closures. Maintain accurate dashboards, MI reporting, and trend analysis for management oversight. 5.
