What this compares against
Most ads never name a figure, so we estimate pay for every posting from the figure in the ad and then report how many estimates the answer rests on. Coverage differs sharply by country, and a comparison is only printed when the sample is large enough to mean something — below 25 estimates the tool refuses rather than guesses.

Where does the salary data come from?
From pay figures stated in job postings we index. A model trained on those postings then estimates pay for every posting in the pool, so an estimate is not the same as an ad naming a figure. It is not survey data and not self-reported pay.
Why do you need my salary?
The point of this tool is the comparison, not another market average. Without a figure there is nothing to compare, and market averages already live on the salary pages.
What is the minimum sample?
50 postings with an estimate for a full comparison. Between 25 and 49 we show the distribution with a limited-sample warning and no percentile. Below 25 we say so.
What are the limits?
Model estimates from ads, not what your employer offers; postings that state a figure are a minority of the market and coverage differs a lot by country, so the sample size printed with every result is part of the answer.
