About the Role We are looking for a Logistics Analyst to support the growth and optimization of Passport's transportation network. Reporting to the Logistics Director within the Commercial organization, this role will use data and transportation expertise to help determine how freight should move across our network—balancing cost, capacity, service, and operational requirements. The Logistics Analyst will play a key role in developing routing recommendations, improving truck and trailer utilization, identifying freight consolidation opportunities, evaluating carrier performance, and finding opportunities to reduce transportation costs.
As our network grows, this individual will help analyze how pickup locations, shipment volumes, transportation modes, and carrier capacity can be combined into an increasingly efficient and scalable network. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 2–4 years of transportation or logistics experience who enjoys solving complex problems with data. The right candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with practical transportation knowledge and the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do: Transportation Network & Routing Optimization Analyze shipment volumes, lanes, pickup locations, weights, pallet counts, capacity, service requirements, and transportation costs to identify network optimization opportunities. Develop data-driven routing recommendations that determine the most efficient carrier, transportation mode, consolidation strategy, and pickup structure across the network.
Identify opportunities to combine nearby pickup locations, optimize pickup frequency, consolidate freight, and improve truck and trailer utilization. Analyze opportunities to shift freight between domestic ground parcel, LTL, and FTL based on volume, cost, capacity, and service requirements. Evaluate existing and forecasted transportation volumes to identify opportunities for dedicated routes, multi-stop solutions, consolidation, and other network efficiencies.
Model alternative transportation scenarios and quantify the financial and operational impact of proposed routing or carrier changes. Develop and maintain routing analyses and recommendations for review and approval by Logistics leadership. Continuously evaluate the network as volumes, pickup locations, customers, and operational requirements change. Partner closely with Operations to ensure routing and network recommendations are operationally practical, executable, and aligned with facility requirements.
Data & Reporting Analyze transportation data from our TMS, carrier reporting, shipment history, and internal systems to identify trends, exceptions, and improvement opportunities. Combine, clean, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to create reliable transportation insights. Build and maintain reporting for key transportation KPIs, including cost per shipment, cost per pound, capacity utilization, pickup performance, delivery performance, and carrier compliance.
Perform lane-level, carrier-level, and mode-level cost analysis to support transportation decisions. Identify root causes behind transportation cost increases, underutilized capacity, service failures, and routing inefficiencies. Translate complex transportation data into clear recommendations and actionable insights for Logistics leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Support continued improvement of transportation data quality, reporting, and TMS utilization.
Help develop and document scalable transportation processes, routing standards, and analytical methodologies as the network continues to grow. Transportation Cost Management & Commercial Support Identify, quantify, and track transportation cost-saving opportunities across the domestic network. Develop financial analyses and business cases for proposed carrier, routing, mode, or network changes.
Establish appropriate cost baselines and measure realized
