GLD is a non-ministerial government department headed by the Treasury Solicitor, our Permanent Secretary, and employs nearly 4000 people, including nearly 3000 legal professionals. We have offices nationwide, in Bristol, Leeds, inner and outer London and Manchester. Our lawyers can also be located within other departments and overseas. GLD also depends on a range of cross-functional professionals to provide our corporate services.

Job description About the Legal Operations Directorate/Legal Delivery Division The Legal Delivery Division sits within the Legal Operations Directorate of the COO Group in GLD. The Directorate brings together existing cross-functional services, skills and capabilities, while creating new complementary roles to identify ways for GLD to become ever more efficient in supporting legal teams.
Legal Delivery is central to the future effectiveness of GLD’s legal work. The Division provides support across areas including legal process improvement, automation, effective use of legal technology, data-driven insights and complementary service skills such as Legal Project Management. Through its commitment to excellence and innovation, Legal Delivery supports GLD’s vision of being an outstanding legal organisation fit for the future and plays an important role in delivering GLD2030 efficiency ambitions.
The Division works collaboratively with other Legal Operations services, including the AI Programme, Knowledge and Innovation, Digital and Data, and HR learning and development colleagues. The Role Support day-to-day on designated deployments within Legal Delivery for example to support the Rapid Response Team, Legal Process Services, Innovation and Client Experience. Provide project management support, including planning, progress tracking and delivery reporting.
Maintain delivery artefacts, including project plans, action logs and stakeholder lists, to support governance and accurate record-keeping. Provide secretariat support, including organising meetings, drafting agendas, preparing materials and recording actions. Coordinate activity across teams to support clear communication, alignment and timely delivery. Identify, monitor and escalate risks and issues where appropriate.
Use data and insight to track progress, monitor performance and inform decisions. Support engagement and communications on Legal Delivery priorities and initiatives.
