🏥 Setting: Inpatient Only | 🚫 No Outpatient Work 🔍 Opportunity Snapshot: We’re seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist with ERCP capabilities for an inpatient-only locum assignment . This is a full-time role , with flexibility for two locum providers to rotate coverage in 7- or 14-day blocks . Common Cases: GI Bleeding Abdominal Pain Gastritis & Ulcerations Food Bolus SBO (Small Bowel Obstruction) Diagnostic workup for carcinoma (🚫 No treatment required) 📅 Key Details: 🕒 Credentialing: 30–60 days (🚨 Emergency credentialing possible for clean files) 📆 Shifts: 7 or 14 days at a time 🧑‍⚕️ FTE: 1.0 (Full-time equivalent) 🛌 Setting: Inpatient consults & procedures only 🔁 Rounding: Yes 🧾 Admissions: Handled by hospitalists Job Responsibilities: 👨‍⚕️ Duties & Volume: 👥 Up to 10 patients/day 🛠️ Procedures: ✅ Endoscopies ✅ Colonoscopies ✅ ERCP (Required) 🧠 Conscious Sedation Preferred (💉 Anesthesia backup available) 💻 EMR: Paragon (🔜 Transitioning to EPIC in 2026) 👩‍⚕️ GI-trained nursing support in Endoscopy Suite Qualifications: ✅ Requirements: 📜 Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology 🩻 ERCP Proficiency – Required 🩺 Active Texas Medical License 🎓 GI Fellowship – Required 🛡️ ACLS Certification – Required ⚖️ Clean malpractice & board record strongly preferred Working Hours: Shift Type: 24Hour Weekend Requirements: Yes On Call Requirements: Yes
