Locum Tenens – Cardiac Anesthesiologist 📍 Mason City, Iowa 🗓 Start Date: TBD | ⏳ Credentialing: 8–12 weeks 💼 Facility Type: Hospital-based 🧾 EMR: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC) Opportunity Highlights Join a growing hospital-based Cardiac Surgery Program Trauma Level II facility Supportive team of 6 anesthesiologists Mix of Cardiac and General Anesthesia cases Participate in a solo-based anesthesia model with occasional student CRNA presence Must be flexible to cover general cases when no hearts are scheduled Case Volume & Clinical Details Cardiac Surgeries: ~90 pump cases/year (projected) General Cases: 5–7 cases/day Cardiac Cases: ~1/day, but not every day ORs in Use: 8 Patient Population: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric (very sick pediatric cases referred out) May occasionally cover at ASC when cardiac cases are not scheduled Facility Info Group Practice Model – primarily solo cases CRNA Students rotate through the practice (must be comfortable with students in OR) Support Provided: Partner anesthesiologists will oversee supervision when required Requirements Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiac Anesthesiology (Preferred) Active Iowa License or IMLC (Required – submit LOQ at name clear) TEE Certified – Must be able to perform, interpret, and bill for TEE procedures Cardiac Fellowship – Preferred (extensive experience acceptable with TEE certification) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS – Required COVID-19 Vaccination – Required Why This Role?
