Academic Labor & Employee Relations Specialist

University of California, Irvine is hiring an Academic Labor & Employee Relations Specialist. The role involves providing expert consultation on labor and employee relations matters, administering collective bargaining agreements, guiding academic leadership on employee relations issues, and facilitating resolution of disputes to maintain productive workplace environments. Highlights Administer academic collective bargaining agreements and support labor and employee relations across the university.

Provide guidance on performance management, grievance resolution, compliance, and conflict management for academic personnel. Lead labor relations projects and participate in grievance and arbitration hearings, representing university interests. Ensure compliance with academic personnel policies, labor agreements, and employment laws. Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including managers, unions, and legal counsel.

Utilize advanced knowledge of labor/employment law, dispute resolution, and labor negotiations. Minimum bachelor's degree and 5 years progressive labor and employee relations experience; Juris Doctorate required. Preferred master's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and academic or medical center experience. Salary range: $135,000 - $169,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits included.

Two-year contract position within the Office of Academic Personnel, part of the Provost's Office.
