About Access Sport's Training and Learning Offer Our Training and Learning is designed for anyone involved in organising and delivering sport and activity for children and young people, and to develop new young leaders from our communities. Our Training and Learning offer includes two streams: 1) Inclusion Learning We provide training to coaches, volunteers and others who work with children and young people to put inclusivity at the core of their sport and physical activity delivery.
We currently run Inclusion Learning focused on Disability Inclusion and Neurodivergence Inclusion. We also have a Young Women and Girls offer which is being refreshed. 2) Young Leaders Training Our Young Leaders training is designed to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills of young people who may not typically access these. We work with partner organisations and education settings to identify cohorts of young people who will most benefit, including SEN Schools, Pupil-Referral Units, Alternative Provision, and community partners.
Role Summary We have ambitious goals to grow our Training and Learning offer and are seeking Inclusion Learning Facilitators ("Facilitators") to join our team. Facilitators will play a core role in delivering Access Sport's Inclusion Learning offer to the community sport sector. This currently includes Disability Inclusion, Neurodivergence Inclusion and Young Leaders Training, with further content in development, as above.
Participants in our Inclusion Learning include those who provide sport and physical activity for children and young people - including sports coaches, club volunteers, leisure operators, National Governing Bodies and beyond. Our Young Leaders Training engages targeted cohorts of young people, including groups from SEN Schools, Pupil-Referral Units, Alternative Provision, and targeted community partners., Inclusion learning delivery: Deliver engaging, interactive and inspiring workshops and sessions to the community sport sector and/or Young Leaders.
Establish a safe and inclusive learning environment, cultivating psychological safety and recognising various stages of experience and confidence of participants. Work with co-facilitators to prepare for sessions in accordance with the programme, partner and attendees. Inclusive sport best practice: Facilitate learning about best practices for inclusive sport delivery. Utilise real world examples to ensure participants connect theory to practical examples.
Develop participants' skills to apply best practice within their own settings. Team relationships and continued development: Attend in-house courses, regular online learning and development sessions, facilitator peer-learning forums, and visit Access Sport club sessions to increase knowledge, experience and confidence. Maintain a consistent line of communication with Access Sport's Inclusive Training Lead and relevant colleagues.
