Second interviews will be held in-person on Monday 5 October About this Role Acting Head of Psychology (Part-time Maternity Cover) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Psychology teacher to join our small, dynamic and growing department as Acting Head of Psychology on a part-time, fixed-term maternity cover basis until December 2027. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and proven experience teaching A level Psychology, ideally with experience of the AQA specification.
They will lead the department's A level provision, supporting its continued development and contributing to the academic life of the College. Psychology is a popular and expanding subject, currently studied by around 30 pupils across two year groups. The department also offers a vibrant enrichment programme, including an active Psychology Society and a programme of talks exploring a wide range of psychological themes.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and potentially develop these opportunities further. The ability to teach Biology or another science subject would be advantageous, as would a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the College.
